Tips from 2023 NFL Weeks 1 – 5 Milly-Makers
We looked at the top 3 lineups from NFL 2023 weeks 1 – 5 from the DraftKings $20 Milly Maker and the FanDuel $5 Sunday Million. Sorry we didn’t have time to make some fancy graphics but we needed to get this out to you, so here it is…
TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) version:
- Spend as much of your salary as you can.
- You should stack your QB but it isn’t mandatory.
- Shoot for these ownership marks*: DK = 110% – 120%. FD = 105% – 115%
- Projected points: On DK, shoot for your players scoring 5x their salary, and 3.5x on FD. If you don’t think your player can hit these marks, don’t use them in these tournaments.
- Don’t play a player against your defense
- Use a WR in your flex
* Ownership projections are volatile and change from site to site. As the name suggests, they are “projections”. Unless you have a site that has been really accurate, I would use it as a tool to make sure you aren’t loading up on too many high-owned players (chalk).
For those who have a couple of minutes to dive in deeper with us, keep on reading. Keep in mind, this info is only beneficial for large entry tournaments (150 entries), specifically the milly-makers.
Combing info from both platforms (places 1 – 3 through week 5, so 15 from DK and 15 from FD for a total of 30 lineups), here are some figures:
| Scenario | Percentage | Total # of Times |
| QB was stacked with 1 WR | 40% | 12 |
| QB was stacked with 2 teammates from 2 different positions | 23% | 7 |
| QB wasn’t stacked | 17% | 5 |
| QB was stacked with 1 TE | 13% | 4 |
| QB was stacked with 2 WRs | 3% | 1 |
| QB was stacked with 1 RB | 3% | 1 |
Other interesting data from combining both platform’s top 3:
- 1 (3%) lineup played a player against their defense.
- 6 lineups (20%) had at least one player from their stack’s opposing team (aka bring-back)
- 14 lineups (47%) had a second stack (2 or more players on the same team but from a different game than their main stack.
- 6 lineups (20%) had their D paired with a RB
Flex usage
70% = WR
23% = RB
7% = TE

The average price to points (PTP) value* = 5.01X. To win, you want to try and score 5.01 times your salary (when salary is divided by 1000). In other words, move the decimal spot on the salary over to the left three times. $5,000.00 to $5.0. So if the salary is $5000, you’ll want 25.05 points (5 x 5.01).
*PTP value = Points divided by adjusted price (adjusted price is dividing price by 1000 to be able to easily correlate with points)
