Fantasy Football UNDERWEIGHT and OVERWEIGHT

Underweight and overweight ownership for the 2023 fantasy football season.

Every year we all have certain players we like and ones we don’t. I try to be careful not to carry my feelings over from year to year without evaluating where I went right and wrong the previous year. No one is perfect with their predictions so I try not to beat myself up too much but I definitely had some swings and misses in 2022. I had a few hits too, but one big miss, Jalen Hurts, who I was underweight on. I learned my lesson to not 100% fade anyone in the first 100ish picks.

To be clear, when I say overweight and underweight, it’s all about value and where they are being drafted. If I say we are underweight on player X, it’s because I feel he isn’t going to produce the points he needs to pay for his value (where he’s drafted). If he’s a first or second-round pick, but he falls to round three or four, then I would probably take him even if I don’t like him because that is too good of value to pass up. Everyone you see on my list isn’t undraftable, I just avoid them at their Average Draft Position (ADP). Players I am overweight on, I reach a little in drafts, but not too much. Overreaching is never good.

Before we get into 2023, let’s review my 2022 picks

On to the 2023 list…

A little disclaimer first…I wanted to go in-depth in this article as to why I made the choices I did but unfortunately I ran out of time trying to do too much research and drafting this year. On top of that, I have been designing graphics and also relearning how to build a website. Needless to say, I am bummed I can’t provide more information but hopefully the lists help a little.

I know I am going to take some heat for my underweight RB list but all I can say is schedule matters. NYG and NE have tough schedules. For the price where Stevenson and Barkley are going, I would rather take a different RB or WR. If they fall several picks, I would definitely take them. Do not look at the underweight list as players to completely avoid. I just don’t want them at their ADP so I don’t have them on many teams. Enjoy!
